WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Bathing suits if you want to get wet, otherwise shorts, T’s, and flip-flops. Honestly we can fly you in a dress or tuxedo- remember the ride takes place over water! We suggest you wear whatever you are comfortable wearing on a boat.
WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
All pricing is per person. We offer a variety of flights, and pricing is subject to locations. Ask us about our special group rates… just call us for your custom quote today or view our pricing menus:
PricingIS PARASAILING SCARY?
Actually it’s quite the opposite. Parasailing is very serene and peaceful. Take off’s and landings are very slow and gentle making you feel as if you are truly ‘floating on air.’
DO YOU NEED TO BE EXPERIENCED TO FLY?
Absolutely not! If you can sit you can fly!
HOW DO WE GET INTO AND OUT OF THE AIR?
Our custom built parasail boats will allow a smooth and easy takeoff and landing. Each parasailer will slowly lift off the back of the boat from the sitting position with ease, as you enjoy the ride in a comfortable swing-like harness. Each parasailer will softly land on the back of the boat in the sitting position. A dip in the water is optional, and recommended, but you will always take off and land from the boat.
IS THERE A PRICE DIFFERENCE IF TWO OR MORE PEOPLE FLY TOGETHER?
The prices are all per person. Whether you fly with someone as a tandem or triple, or if you fly alone, the prices are per person. However, at Paradise, if you ride more than one at a time we double the distance of your flight for the same price. All multi-passenger flights are side by side offering great views and comfort on the adventure. Flying single, tandem or triple is based on the combined weight of participants and will always be at the Captain’s discretion based on the winds. We always do our best to accommodate your requests, but safety is our number one priority.
CAN PEOPLE GO ON THE BOAT AND WATCH?
Yes. As long as we have room available on the boat your friends and family may come along to take part in the fun (pricing is subject to location). Please keep in mind parasailers always have first priority, but we will do our best based on Coast Guard regulations to get the observers on board. Choose your observers carefully… the captain often allows them to decide how wet your dip will be.
DO WE HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SWIM?
No. All takeoffs and landings are done from the back of the boat. In the unlikely event of a mechanical malfunction all participants are required to wear lifejackets while parasailing. Most can fly—including the young, old, and someone with special needs. We are happy to accommodate guests of all ages, but safety is our number one priority and special requests will be at the Captain’s discretion.
IS THERE AN AGE OR WEIGHT REQUIREMENT?
Anyone from age 5 to 105 can fly. Although participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver prior to boarding the vessel. Minimum weight required to parasail alone is roughly 90 pounds. If the flyer is less than 90 pounds, they will simply fly tandem with someone not to exceed roughly 500 pounds combined weight. Our licensed captains use their expertise and knowledge based solely on the wind conditions to make the final decisions. Again, safety is number one.
DO WE RUN ON THE BEACH LIKE IN MEXICO?
No. Forget any crazy stories you may have heard. State of the art winch boat technology allows all takeoffs and landings to be hydraulically controlled, taking place from the back of the boat. Our parasail boats are United States Coast Guard inspected, and custom built specifically for parasailing.
DO YOU TAKE PICTURES OF OUR EXPERIENCE?
Yes. We offer a photo service from the boat utilizing professional Canon camera with EFS 18-200mm wide angle zoom lenses. You can purchase a digital chip of over 40 high res shots of you and your family’s entire adventure! Take the photos home on a 8GB SD card and put them on your computer to email friends or take them to a local photo-shop or digital kiosk for printing, then the SD card is yours to reuse! Our photographer captures the most memorable moments as you relax and enjoy the experience. This photo service is available for $35.
Wanting to capture the parasailing adventure from your point of view? GoPro HD Digital Video Packages are now available at all of our locations. Astonishing views of the scenic lake and ocean are captured using Hero Series GoPro cameras. The high flying adventure is recorded on a 8GB SD card that is yours to take with you when you exit the boat. The GoPro video service is available for $45. Be sure and ask about our Photo/GoPro Special we are now offering!
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE BOAT STOPS SUDDENLY?
Our vessels and equipment are inspected daily, and kept to very specific mechanical standards. In the unlikely event of a mechanical malfunction the participants are gently lowered into the water (lifejackets are mandatory) and retrieved by another vessel in our fleet immediately. Again, you are never in any danger, worst case scenario you get wet! Guest Safety is our Top Priority, please watch our Parasail Safety Video prior to your experience with us and ask any questions or concerns you might have about your flight. Watch our safety video
DO I EVER TOUCH THE WATER?
The entire flight can be completely dry, however water landings are occasionally necessary. If requested, we will provide a “dip” (weather conditions permitting) in which we simply lower the parachute toward the water, which allows you to touch the water. You will then be lifted back up and continue the ride as usual. This is definitely recommended. (Florida locations do require customers to walk out in the water to board the boat.)
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO GO PARASAILING?
Early morning! We all like to sleep in while on vacation but you just can’t beat morning flights. Temperatures are in the mid 70’s, the Gulf of Mexico is calm, winds are light, and boat traffic is at a minimum. By going early you also avoid any chance of afternoon showers we commonly get in the summer. And best of all…. the marine life is at its best! You have a great chance of seeing dolphin and sea turtles! (Captain’s Tip: Plan for parasailing during the first part of your vacation. That way, if the weather does not cooperate, you will have other opportunities to fly.)
DO WE NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION?
Although reservations are not required, they are recommended. We encourage reservations because of parasailing popularity and the limited space available. Walk-up guests are welcome, but there is often a wait time, especially during peak season (March – August). No credit card is required to hold your spot (for parties of 6 or less), however we ask that if you need to cancel you try to provide us with 24 hour notice.
For parties of 7 or more we do require a credit card to hold a reservation. Customers have up until 24 hours prior to existing reservation to cancel or change the reservation. Failure to cancel will result in a charge of full price on our minimum flight for the number of people the reservation entailed. Cancellation policy still applies during rainy weather. If we are still able to accommodate customers the cancellation policy still applies. If Paradise Parasail is unable to accommodate customers due to unfavorable parasailing weather we will reschedule or refund accordingly. Please also note that you must be on time to your reservation and that we cannot always re-accommodate, lateness could result in a full charge because no notice was given.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE LINE BREAKS?
The line is designed to withstand 6,000 pounds of pressure. The average parasail ride only produces 800 pounds. It is very uncommon for the line to break, but if it does, you are never in any danger. If the line should break, the parachute will slowly and gently bring the parasailers to the water. The parachute is designed to land in the water behind the parasailers, never on top of them. Your life jackets will allow you to comfortably float as the boat will immediately pick you back up. We like to refer to this as “Plan B.” This ride cannot be bought! Guest Safety is our Top Priority, please watch our Parasail Safety Video prior to your experience with us and ask any questions or concerns you might have about your flight. Watch our safety video
DO YOU OFFER GIFT CERTIFICATES?
Parasailing Gift Certificates are a unique gift idea for any occasion. If you would like to give someone the gift of a parasailing adventure, just let us know. We have gift certificates ready for pick-up at any of our locations. Not close by? No problem! Simply call our reservation line and we can mail them out for you at no additional charge.
IS IT CUSTOMARY TO TIP THE CREW?
The Paradise crew prides themselves on safety and customer service. Just like others in the service industry, the crew works very hard to make sure all your needs aboard the boat are taken care of. Tips are greatly appreciated.
WHO NEEDS TO SIGN A WAIVER?
Everyone who parasails with us must sign a waiver before participating. Minors under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature on their waiver along with their own signature. You can complete the waiver at your Paradise Parasail location or download them below to bring with you.
